Widower Missing Intimacy

I am a very active and fit professional who is interested in meeting a woman with similar characteristics. I was widowed in early 2008 and am now at a place where I would like to consider beginning a new relationship. A deep friendship is an important part of a romantic relationship for me so I guess I would like to start there with the hope that chemistry and love would ultimately follow. I am the proud father of two children aged 16 and 19 and two stepdaughters aged 23 and 25. I am gradually finding myself with more and more time on my hands which I enjoy, but I'd also enjoy spending some of that time with someone very special. Financially I am very independent. My interests include boating, golf, skiing, working out and travelling. I'd enjoy meeting a woman nearby who also has children, who would understand and respect my relationship with my kids and potentially become a part of that relationship. It isn't a big deal in my life but I would prefer that it was known and accepted upfront rather than developing a relationship only to see it crumble because of stereotypes sometimes associated with herpes.
